Life Center has been doing ministry in the 253 for over 100 years! As you look back at the history of Life Center, you’ll see our roots in Tacoma go back to July of 1918 with a small group of believers meeting in a second-story room in a building near 6th and Pine. Frank Gray was the founding pastor, and under his ministry, this small group of believers moved from various locations into their first permanent home at 12th and G Street in Tacoma in September of 1926. Pastor Gray moved to a new leadership responsibility in 1938, and over the next 27 years, several pastors came and left their leadership imprint on this church. In 1965, Fulton Buntain became the lead pastor of Life Center.
Pastor Buntain was the Senior Pastor of Life Center for 40 years, and under his leadership, the church flourished. As a result of his vision and faithfulness, we now operate a private Christian school called Life Christian Academy, which is Pre-Kindergarten through High School with 750 students. We also own an independent living and retirement community called Life Manor. Furthermore, we have one of the largest Spanish-speaking Assemblies of God congregations in the entire country.
Our church is part of a larger network of churches called the Northwest Ministry Network. This network is connected on a national and international level with the Assemblies of God. The Assemblies of God is the largest Pentecostal denomination in the world, with 63 million members total and 3 million members here in the United States. Although we are proud to be affiliated with the Assemblies of God, you won’t hear us talk about it much. This is intentional. This movement started in 1906 with the Azusa Street revivals in California. The people who gathered there were anti-denominational; they viewed church denominations and labels as human creations. Jesus prayed that his church would be one (John 17:21 NIV), and we believe there is really ONE church in the Kingdom of God. Like those people at Azusa Street, we think denominations tend to divide us rather than unite us. We aren’t about trumpeting a label or a brand of Christianity. We exist to love Jesus and to inspire our community to love and follow him.

Their Mission:
The mission of Samson House is to provide a safe place, physical or virtual, for Christian men to bring their real selves and tell the real truth about the things they’ve kept hidden. It’s a space of grace on the addiction battlefield, where men can be transparent without judgment or shame. It’s a storehouse of resources, an oasis of acceptance, and a network of no-bull brotherhood. We recognize we’re in a battle for sexual sanity, authentic relationships, and an end to destructive hidden habits, and we refuse to let the casualties of this battle be our marriages, our children, and our grandchildren.
Their Vision:
We see a man fully restored to sexual sanity, his marriage saved and strengthened, his romance returned with his wife, and true beauty restored. The innocence of his children is protected, and he lives authentically before God, himself, and others. If you have that vision or your dream, join us.
The History:
The Samson Society began in February 2004, in Franklin, Tennessee, with a group of 12 men, following a meeting format modeled after those used in 12-step recovery. By February 2007, the group had grown to more than 50 men, several of whom shared their stories in Samson and the Pirate Monks: Calling Men to Authentic Brotherhood, written by Nate Larkin and published by Thomas Nelson. The book's purpose was to inspire other men to launch similar groups.
Since the first book's publication, more than 450 Samson Society groups have started in North America, and nearly 10,000 men have registered online at samsonsociety.org. There are no fees for membership in the Samson Society, and the Society is prohibited by its charter from paying any salaries or owning any property. Samson House was formed in June of 2017 to serve as an information clearinghouse, event organizer, and online meeting place for the Samson Society. Its goal is to strengthen Society and build a network with other organizations engaged in the same mission.

ChristiansTT provides prayers and devotionals to help enhance and build the spiritual life of Christians around the world. It is ad-supported at the moment. But we need to provide a better ad-free environment for our readers and community members. Each Patreon member helps us move closer to reducing and eventually removing ads on the site.

WHO we are is just as important as WHAT we do. We emphasize Faith. Love. Mission. JESUS.
We are a community of calculated risk-takers for Christ and His mission. No more fear: not in our lives nor in our church! #FaithNotFear
We are a community of includes. All are welcome to come as they are to become something new in Christ. #LoveNotHate
We are a community of movers & shakers. We are not content to be comfortable but to carry our cross for Christ. #MissionNotMaintenance
We are a community of grace-givers. We lead others to the Gospel, not the Law because God did that for us. #JesusNotReligion
